Exploring new cultures and experiences can often lead to unforgettable family memories. This fall, I had the opportunity to embark on a long-anticipated trip to Japan with my family—a journey that had been a decade in the making. A particular highlight was a fascinating visit to a hedgehog café, where we learned about these adorable creatures.

We walked the famous Shibuya Crossing, sampled traditional Japanese dishes, and even tried our hand at arcade games that left us humbled by our lack of skills. A standout moment of our trip was visiting the Studio Ghibli Museum, a magical place dedicated to the beloved animation studio, which left us spellbound.

Our travels led us to significant historical sites, like the Kiyomizu-dera temple, where an ancient belief revolved around “taking the plunge” into the unknown. While the allure of wishes may have drawn people to leap into the abyss, our family’s adventures were filled with learning and laughter without any extreme leaps of faith.
